New Yorkers like to believe that pizza was invented either here in New York, or Italy-- but these are both horrible misconceptions. Pizza was invented in New Haven and the only unknown is whether it was at Sally's (
'here') or Pepe's (
'here'). Both are currently know for two things: their absolutely glorious pies-- the white clam is a personal favorite, also the pepperoni with broccoli-- and their abysmal service, though I think Sally's takes the cake in the hostile servers category. Bottom line: there is no where else in the world where people will wait in line for hours to get pizza and its freaking delicious.
A world away, it was Pizza night with the girls at Rivoli Pizza in the West Village...

Chatting to her slice about how yummy it is... |

Isn't it so nice when you think something is finished and then there is one perfect last sip... |
