Jo's

For the first weekend in what seems like literally forever we are not having everyone we have ever met over for dinner. It was a nice change of pace to head back over to Jo's, which is pretty much the only other thing we do on Fridays and Saturdays.

Jo's, on Houston and Elizabeth, is a small, classic inspired bar, with $1 oysters Sunday-Friday from 5-8. The oysters are great, last night was Royal Miagi, the bartenders serve up classic cocktails with a twist- lavender mojitos, sidecars ( I don't even know what those are, but I hear they are old school) and good, interesting beers on tap.  I love the marble bar, the silver handles on the beer taps and the chalkboard menus on the wall.

The atmosphere is swanky enough to make you want to get a little dressed up, but not too swanky to prevent me from occasionally going in a sweatshirt on a Sunday evening. As if affordable oysters and the classy yet relaxed atmosphere were not enough of a draw, they have a menu full of delicious bar food plus-- great burgers, A-mazing curried mussels, this banging squid and chorizo appetizer...mmm.

Needless to say, we often are in attendance both weekend nights. I brought the camera last night and took a ton of blurry photos to share with you. Don't look for too long, you might get a headache.

Sometimes you need to take a few photos in the facilities....
