Good Point.

I love it when, amidst finger pointing and fake solidarity, someone says something that makes sense. If people really want to do something about gun violence in the USA, its not hard to figure out where to start.

"Here' is a rational strategy to reduce gun violence, presented clearly by none other than Kristof at the NY Times.

Apparently, after episodes of gun violence, there is an enormous spike in gun sales, as enthusiasts run to stock up in case tighter regulations are imposed. So ridiculous, it's the right to bear arms, not the right to bear armies. Read the column, no matter where you fall on rights or politics, it makes sense, just admit it.

Some tidbits to pull you in:
To protect the public, we regulate cars and toys, medicines and mutual funds. So, simply as a public health matter, shouldn’t we take steps to reduce the toll from our domestic arms industry?

Limit gun purchases to one per month per person, to reduce gun trafficking. And just as the government has cracked down on retailers who sell cigarettes to minors, get tough on gun dealers who sell to traffickers.

Seems reasonable, no?
